How much fun can you have in a field?

When we got asked by one of our fantastic clients to help to facilitate three stages at Creamfields North, We immediately said yes. Then got asked if we could organise mixing facilities for two of them. We said yes, then got asked if we could crew it. Yep can do that. Oh and it’s in about 10 days. Sorry it’s when?

Ah well, never let the details get in the way of a good story. To be fair, because we have pre-existing relationships in place with a number of suppliers, colleagues and friends, they are often not too surprised by our last minute “I’ve got this job”. 21 Blackmagic Design cameras with B4 and EF glass, gimbals, Jibs, Drones all part of the tech spec; it felt like Christmas came early for our Directors, especially when added to the mix was our spanking new 40 input production van.

We’re not sure who was having most fun, the crowd out front, or us behind the stage. These jobs are the type of jobs we’ve dreamed of, to be able to advise on the kit, to spec it, to cherry pick our crew and bring it all to fruition showing off our diverse range of skills and creativity. In a dry hire business, those jobs don’t come along too often, but I think we can proudly say we nailed it.

David Guetta our headliner already has a combined total of 500,000 views on Facebook and YouTube alone and rapidly climbing inside of a week, with him using our video for the launch of his new single “Blue” (I’m good). What a show though! It’s still doesn’t feel real yet.

Now begins the challenge of making all of this sustainable and the norm as we look to provide facilities around our production unit, proving the power of the Blackmagic Design ecosystem, combined with our clever engineering.
